“Performance with a View” is a free monthly concert in the TCA Lakeside Room, sponsored by Friends of TCA. These informative, entertaining and informal performances feature guest artists from a variety of artistic disciplines. This community outreach series is open to Friends of TCA and to the public. Coffee service begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program follows at 10 a.m. Optional TCA gallery and facility tours follow.

Tuesday, January 18, 9:30 a.m. Lakeside Room

The Sustainable Symphony under the direction of Brian Viliunas, is comprised of Arizona State University students, alumni and local musicians who participate in the concerts rather than “regular” members. The Symphony concentrates on performing well-known and relevant orchestral music. Coffee service begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program follows at 10 a.m. Optional gallery and facility tours follow. Free.

Tuesday, February 15, 9:30 a.m. Lakeside Room

The voice students of Anne Elgar Kopta, soprano and associate professor of Music in voice, will perform “Arias and Favorite Songs.” Professor Kopta, a native of Kansas, has a distinguished record of performing and teaching that spans the world of Broadway and opera, and that of teaching at major universities and summer music schools both here and abroad. Coffee service begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program follows at 10 a.m. Optional gallery and facility tours follow. Free.

Tuesday, March 15, 9:30 a.m. Lakeside Room

West Valley Symphony members Jim Nelson, Scott Werner and Gene Cervantes bring keyboard-oriented sounds to this special concert. Audiences will enjoy the sounds of the marimba, vibraphone and xylophone as musicians tap out tunes from jazz to ragtime to Bach. Coffee service begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program follows at 10 a.m. Optional gallery and facility tours follow. Free.
